Segment Intending: taking life one segment at a time

I learned about Segment Intending from speaker and author Esther Hicks.
What is a segment?
A segment is when you move into a new experience.
Getting into your car
Going to a class
Starting a work shift
Before you email or call someone
Before you sit down to a meal
Going into a store
Taking a walk
Getting on an airplane
Intention is magic. It is the wand of creation.
Segment intending is when you take the time to define your intentions for the segment of your day that you are moving into. It helps you focus your energy on what you want to achieve. This is a great concept because we can take our life in small chunks and feel less overwhelmed.
It’s a great way to help reduce stress or anxiety.
“My intentions for this segment of my day are…
You can use segment intending in prayer and meditation, but writing your segment intentions in a journal or notebook can be very effective because it quickly slows you down as you put pen to paper. It would be easy to make a habit out of it by using a journal.
You can be quick about it! The goal is to boost your vibration, your mood. To get into a state of gratitude before you enter into a new activity or interaction. Writing down a short gratitude list can do that for you.
The more you can appreciate what is in your NOW, the better your next segment will be.
A grateful heart will release positive energy, whether you are going to the bank, having tea with a friend or going home after a busy day at work.
You can carry a pocket journal just for Segment Intentions!
You will find that as you begin to really open up and tell it like it is that your journal becomes an excellent empathetic friend. One who will listen to all you have to say about your joys, your pain, your fears or your concerns. I would strongly urge you to get these emotions out of your head and onto the page. For powerful negative emotions are diminished by writing and powerful positive emotions become explosive. You see, writing about your fear reduces its strength, and capturing your excitement magnifies its power. - Jim Rohn

Writing is my Popsicle stick house. It's not always perfect, but I have fun gluing the words together.
